In math terms, commutative means that an equation order does not matter.
Multiplication and addition are commutative.
For example:
4+2 is the same thing as 2+4
5+3+2 is the same thing as 2+5+3
4x2 is the same thing as 2x4
4x2x3 is the same thing as 3x2x4
